The Ticker is located at the top of the screen. It shows trades, quote changes, company news headlines, and state changes via a scrolling ticker tape display.
There are 5 tickers available, with one reserved for alert notifications and the remaining 4 being independently configurable. You can choose to display each ticker by selecting Show in the controls.
To access the ticker controls, right-click on the ticker area.
The speed of the ticker increases when there is a large amount of timely data that needs to be displayed. If the ticker settings are too broad the scroll speed can make the ticker unreadable. To prevent this, it is recommended to restrict the ticker settings to a smaller subset of data.
You can pause the ticker scrolling by hovering the mouse over the ticker. Clicking on a scrolling code will change the active panel to that code.
The Ticker can be hidden by either deselecting it in the Display section of the toolbar or through the View menu.
Use the ticker to alert you to company news as soon as it is released. Click on the scrolling headline to access the news document instantly.
Use the ticker to alert you to large trades being executed. Set the Trade settings to All Trades and the Value Min Range to '1m' ($1,000,000). When single trades with a value greater than $1 million occur they will scroll along the ticker.
Use the ticker to alert you when stocks go into Pre Notice or Halted states.
